Bill Maher Is Coming To Town
"It's the first time in 600 years we've been pope-less. And, Jesus, what if God tries to tell us something? Who's he going to talk to?" –Bill Maher
Bill Maher is the kind of guy you either admire for his sarcastic, dry, unforgiving bluntness on politics, or the kind of guy you find to be obnoxious, for making fun of every little thing that happens in the political realm.
There is no in between with Bill Maher. He is the type of man who demands your ultimate open mindedness, if you possess such a thing. It is impossible to read any book or watch any show that is connected with Bill Maher with a conservative point-of-view, because Maher's ultimate goal is to cause a reaction from his audience, especially those who have conservative political views.
Bill Maher is around for the purpose of being a rebuttal to our Social Media in this day and age. Maher is teaching people how to look outside of the box and think about different causes and effects instead of what is being fed to us. Life is 90% of what happens to you and only 10% of how you deal with it. It is your attitude that makes all the difference. So, you either laugh or you cry.
Why so serious, all the time?
People need to laugh when it comes to all the ridiculousness of this world, especially our own Nation and the decisions being made in both the Senate and the White House. Who else to do it other than Bill Maher? Maher has accepted the role of Scapegoat—the role where he will be hated by many and loved by few—in order for people to have that option of a revolution in lou of how they already view politics.
Bill Maher has been in this game for 18 years; he started doing standup comedy in 1979 and has not stopped with his unique twisted sense-of-humor since. You may know of Bill Maher from his show on HBO, Real Time with Bill Maher and another show he did prior to this one, Politically Incorrect. Bill Maher's unflinching honesty has gotten him 23 nominations for an Emmy Award.
Maher has also been in a documentary that is among the top 7 of documentaries done, known as Religulous, directed by Larry Charles the creator of the Borat movie.
On top of doing shows and documentaries, Bill Maher has also written four bestsellers: True Story, Does Anybody Have a Problem With That?, 'When You Ride Alone, You Ride With Bin Laden', New Rules: Polite Musings From A Timid Observer, and his most recent The New New Rules: A Funny Story About How Everybody But Me Has Their Head Up Their A**. Anyone can clearly see from the titles of his books that no one should take him too seriously. Yes, what he says is truly how he feels about the topic, but remember, he is delivering it in a way to cause a reaction, because every comedian hungers for a genuine surprised reaction from his audience.
So, coming up on April 7, 2013 at 7:00 p.m., Bill Maher will be here in Savannah, Georgia at the Savannah Civic Center in the Johnny Mercer Theatre.
