It’s a Big Ocean Out There…
With big names like Disney, The History Channel, The Discovery Network and National Geographic, this is one festival you won’t want to miss out on. Besides being a film festival, Blue is also using this opportunity to host an industry festival. What that means for you is that the filmmakers will be introducing their films, participating in discussion panels, explaining exhibits, hosting workshops, even socializing at the receptions and parties. This festival is really a great vehicle to raise awareness for ocean conservation, learn more about the ocean film industry and, of course, enjoy the finest collection of ocean films in the world.
The festival takes place this week, starting Wednesday, June 10, 2009 with an opening reception and very special screening of Disneynature’s first film, Earth. The festival runs through the week, ending on Sunday, June 14. There are three levels of passes available for the festival, The Blue Whale Pass (all access $250), The Great White Pass (admission, preferred seating and parties $150) or The Polar Bear Pass (admission and preferred seating $85.) Individual screening and event tickets may also be purchased and some of the festival activities are free as well.
