Neo-Bathaus: Absurdist Works in the Digital Era at the Non-Fiction Gallery
"Art for Art's Sake" is exactly the phrase to explain the motivation behind the Neo-Bathaus: Absurdist Works in the Digital Era, art exhibition going on this month. Non-Fiction Gallery, located at 1522 Bull Street, was founded by Jae Matthews, Alessandra Hoshor, and Alycia Linke (all are attendees of SCAD University), and have made it possible for art to be presented and enjoyed through a different type of media.
The Neo-Bathaus art exhibition is bringing about a new environment for the generation of dialogue among art spectators. This art exhibition is hoping for something other than just beauty to be taken away from it, but also a political and complex reaction, that demands all of your attention for a deeper awakening to one's self and the role they have in life.
The Neo-Bathaus art exhibition, no matter how plain, perverse or retro it may seem, is displayed to everyone, with the hopes of the spectator walking away knowing the existence of a new perspective on art in the art world.
This art exhibition is being displayed to the public only at a week's time. Jae, Alessandra and Alycia, all understand the importance of art and how it can affect the masses.
So, the more the community is involved the better for not only art, but the entire Savannah Community. Last Friday, February 1, 2013 was the grand opening to the Neo-Bathaus event and the closing reception will be this Friday, February 8, 2013. So it is very important that everyone take an hour out of their week day to go by and see how amazing art can really be.
"Because art is only going to happen now, in the moment" says the Non-Fiction Gallery girls.
