This holiday season the Westin Savannah Harbor Resort is hosting the Gingerbread Village. If you have not seen it, it is a must! The Savannah Harbor Foundation has sponsored a fun, gingerbread house competition and the contestants "houses" are being displayed at the Westin. This is the perfect activity for everyone, especially young children.
The way the houses are set up, it appears as if it is a Gingerbread Village. (Hence, the title.) The village is simply enchanting and fun for all. I honestly had no idea how much detail could go into this art. All of the contestants that entered the contest have true talent. The details of each attraction was so in depth, you must see it for yourself to understand.
There were beautiful replicas of famous Savannah structures such as The Olde Pink House, The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, the Savannah River Queen, and even a Gulfstream plane! The largest piece of art was the gingerbread Westin! It is enormous. Surrounding the village is a toy train that runs continuously; very entertaining to the little ones. Each building is numbered for visitors to vote! So, go out and pick your favorite ones now.
The Westin has made the scene even more inviting by providing cookies, apples, lemonade, and water to guests who come to view the magnificent, Gingerbread Village. This Christmas break, do not delay, head to the Westin today for an unbelievable attraction.
