Located on Habersham Street in between 32nd and 33rd, this is just one of many renovations taking place in the neighborhood. Aquarium's New Exhibit
The next big exhibit for the UGA Marine Education Center and Aquarium, located on Skidaway Island, has been classified as top secret! The big unveiling will be a VIP event on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 7pm. The general public will be able to view the exhibit starting Saturday, September 12. What I can tell you, is that the new animals have been collected through a collaboration with the Department of Natural Resources and are part of ongoing research. I have also been told the new exhibit will house these animals indefinitely and that they can be found locally off the Georgia coast. The tank and exhibit area were formally used for the aquarium’s Nurse Shark exhibit. Those sharks were released back into the wild in late June. Since that time, the museum has been hard at work renovating the space for the new exhibit. Can you guess the animals?
