The Noodle Bowl: a Hidden Asian Gem
My husband and I had the opportunity to try out the Noodle Bowl this weekend. Finding out where all the less known spots (which is one thing my husband and I love to do) is one of the perks of working for Key to Savannah.
When walking in we were greeted by one of the owners who was very friendly and attentive. We ordered once we had been seated and received our drinks. First an appetizer, the Summer Rolls with shrimp. We’re originally from Indiana, and we had one place in particular where we loved their Summer Rolls – thank you Noodle Bowl, you matched up with our favorites from Indiana.
After finishing our Summer Rolls, we received our meals. We were served by another owner of the restaurant who made us feel like we were in the kitchen at her own home. My husband ordered the Chicken Curry, and I ordered the Lemongrass Pork. When trying new places, we try (keyword - try) not to order the same thing so we can poke at each other’s dishes. With the attempt of not sounding cliché – the dishes were as good as they looked. My husband’s came with chicken curry, rice, and vegetables – looked so good. Mine was a little more complex – sliced pork, a spring roll, a fritter, and fresh vegetables – all on top of rice noodles. It was delish, best part; I had leftovers which means you definitely get your money’s worth on food.
Price wise, Noodle Bowl was pretty affordable, especially if you have a family and don’t feel like cooking a meal (a trip to a restaurant with a family of 3 or 4 gets really expensive!!). Most of the menu’s prices don’t go above $10, but there’s a few that max out at $12 - $13.
If you keep up with FourSquare, I posted the tip Saturday night to try out the Summer Rolls. A few comments I received about this hidden little place were “That place (The Noodle Bowl) is a hidden gem!!” and “The best!”.
So, plan on stopping by and checking this place out!
