Guide to Savannah
Shopping Districts
Bull Street and Broughton Street
For a taste of Savannah shopping history, head down to Broughton Street. For decades, it was known for its high-fashion boutiques and independent specialty shops that both visitors and residents would flock to. Now, Broughton Street and Bull Street are known as Savannah's antique district where you can find artifacts from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. These streets also feature cafes, bookstores, apparel, treats, and more.
River Street
River Street is perhaps the most popular location for Savannah shopping. The shops are situated in renovated warehouses that were once our city's cotton exchange and the charming street is paved with cobblestones, lined with street lights, and borders the Savannah River, so no matter what you're shopping for, you'll have a scenic view. You'll find everything from art to books to pubs to sweet shops in this historic Savannah shopping area.
City Market
City Market gets its name from the farmer's market that took place in the same location in the mid-1700s. The bustling area's shops are squarely arranged, much like a farmer's market, and the area is known for its array of artist studios, sidewalk cafes, and art galleries. When you're done shopping, take a break in the courtyard that features live music, a fountain, and horse-drawn carriage tours. Retail Stores
If you want to skip the tourist attraction of the downtown area, you can find two malls on the south side of Savannah that feature popular name-brand stores. In the Savannah Mall, you can do your Savannah shopping in over 100 retail stores and restaurants, then let the children take a ride on the carousel. And if you can't find what you're looking for there, the Oglethorpe Mall, which features an 800-seat food court, is only a few miles away.
Keller's Flea Market
For a unique Savannah shopping experience, head to Keller's Flea Market (about 12 miles from Downtown). With over 400 vendors every weekend, Keller's is the place to go if you're looking for bargain buys and gifts with personality.
